The 9th Annual Ocean State Rhode Races in Narragansett, RI will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023. Race weekend features a Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5k Race.

The Marathon will start at 7:30 am, the Half Marathon will start at 8:00 AM, and the 5k at 8:15 am, all on Sunday.

This genuine Rhode Island marathon will showcase what is great about the Ocean State.  Not only does the course feature iconic Rhode Island beauty, our post-race festival will include an authentic Rhode Island experience at the Narragansett Town Beach.

The Jamestown Rhode Race will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023. The event is set on picturesque Conanicut Island and looks out over Narragansett Bay and the Newport Pell Bridge, the largest suspension bridge in New England. The course features vivid landscapes, winding roads, historic Watson Farm, and the village of Jamestown with its small shops and quaint restaurants. The Half Marathon will start at 7 am.

The Bristol Independence Rhode Race will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023. In partnership with the Bristol Fourth of July Committee, the half marathon will follow the beautiful downtown streets of America’s quintessential community when it is decked out in its finest – during the Oldest 4th of July Celebration in America. The course includes incredible historic homes, a town common and the America’s Cup Museum before heading out along the scenic coastline, through Roger Williams University and finishing along the water at Independence Park.

***New in 2023 – a Two Person Relay has been added to this event.  Register as a team, with the first leg being 7.5 miles, an exchange at Roger Williams University, and a second leg completing the 5.6 mile distance. All Male, All Female or Co-Ed teams are offered.

BAW was started in 2001 by a student from Brown University's Warren Alpert Medical School to raise money for the Hasbro Children's Hospital's Asthma Camp. Each year, our organizing team consists of a group of medical students who are continuing the tradition of supporting children with asthma and promoting asthma and health education. We are grateful for Brown and the local community businesses and organizations that work with us each year to support this worthy cause.

Join us in the City-by-the-Sea for this stunning marathon, half marathon and 5k. Newport Rhode Races partners with the upcoming Annual Newport Daffodil Days Festival to give you a true Spring Newport Experience. Our courses will pass along many of the over 1,200,000 starting to bloom around the City by the Sea. (We’ll call it Dash through the Daffodils!)

The Marathon will start at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Easton’s Beach in Newport, RI. The Half Marathon will start at 8:00 a.m. from the same location. The 5k will follow at 8:30 am – all from the same beautiful seaside start.

Come and join us on April 8, 2023 at Goddard Memorial State Park in Warwick, RI for the Izzy Run/Walk to benefit The Izzy Foundation. We will have a kids 1k followed by our Izzy 5k. Music, refreshments and awards! You do not want to miss it!

CHARITY

This event will support the North Kingstown track team in memory of Brandon Burns who passed in a tragic road accident. Brandon was member of the North Kingstown track team and won many state championships. He also gave back to the North Kingstown track team as a coach after he graduated.

The 2022 Amica Newport Marathon & Half Marathon will take place on October 9h and feature all of the beauty and grandeur the City By The Sea has to offer.

The Amica Newport Marathon was recently voted as having the "Best Half Marathon" and "Best Race Swag" in the Northeast by Competitor Magazine. The Amica Newport Half Marathon was also listed as one of the top 15 half marathons in the USA by the BibRave 100 multiple years in a row.

The course is simply astounding: winding ocean-side roads, miles of waterfront views, and sweeping vistas of the grand mansions along Bellevue Avenue.

The race will begin at 7:30 AM in Newport, Rhode Island and travels through the city, as well as neighboring, Middletown. The race will utilize a USTAF-certified course and can be used as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon and all other major marathon events.

The 9th annual Ocean Road 10k will be held on October 2nd, 2022. A percentage of proceeds from every entry fee will benefit the Narragansett Historical Society.

This scenic, flat 10k course starts at the Pt. Judith Lighthouse, runs north on Ocean Road under the famed Narragansett Towers, and finishes in the northern parking lot at Town Beach. The race was recently named as one of the Top 15 10Ks in the USA by BibRave, and voted the "Best 10K" in the Northeast by Competitor Magazine.

Runners receive a custom-designed participant shirt, bib with a timing chip, and finishers receive a finishers medal, food, and post-race refreshments at Narragansett Town Beach.

The Lifespan Cancer Institute will hold its annual Malloy Strong Run/Walk on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 9:00am at City Park in Warwick, RI. Funds generated from the event will directly assist in offsetting treatment costs of patients currently undergoing cancer treatment. Financial distress is often experienced due to high out-of-pocket expenditures during treatment as well as from the necessity of taking time off from work. We are actively seeking partner organizations to serve as event sponsors, thereby helping us to financially, physically and emotionally assist patients through cancer treatment.

This exciting event features a competitive 5k race along with a recreational run/walk on the beautiful grounds of City Park in Warwick, RI. Following the race, there will be an awards ceremony along with refreshments, music and family activities for all to enjoy.

The Lifespan Cancer Institute includes cancer care provided by Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, Newport Hospital, and our East Greenwich & Lincoln Ambulatory Care satellite offices. Rhode Island's 11th Annual Esophageal Cancer Walk/Run is hosted by The Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity working to raise awareness, encourage early detection and to fund research of esophageal cancer...in hopes of a cure.™

In 2015, The Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation was able to award esophageal cancer research funding for the very first time. Then in November, 2018, The Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation awarded esophageal cancer research funding for the second time!

The path at Warwick City Park is approximately three miles and guests are encouraged to walk or run at their own pace as the event is a walk/run and not a timed race.

Learn the facts about esophageal cancer
-Esophageal cancer has increased over 733% in the past four decades and is considered the fastest growing cancer in the US and western world.

-Risk factors include:

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD, acid reflux, chronic heartburn),
obesity,
poor nutrition,
tobacco use,
excessive alcohol use,
Barrett’s esophagus.
-As one of the deadliest cancers, esophageal cancer has an overall 5 year survival rate of only 19.9%.

-There are no routine or standard screenings to improve early detection of esophageal cancer.

-Symptoms often arise late, once the cancer is considered advanced or “distant” (spread to lymph nodes and other organs.)

-Stage IV esophageal cancer has a survival rate of only 5.2%.

-In 2022, an estimated 20,640 will be diagnosed and there will be an estimated 16,410 deaths.

-Despite all of these facts, esophageal cancer research is extremely underfunded.

The BankNewport 10 Miler is a run/walk that starts and finishes at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island. 2500+ runners and walkers of all speeds join us annually for this race that benefits the Fort Adams Trust and the Boys and Girls Club of Newport County.

Welcome back to our first in-person spring 5K since 2019! This spring, more than 420 girls on 29 teams from all over Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts will cross the finish line at the end of their season. We want you there to celebrate and support all of their accomplishments!

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

The Spring 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run is open to all previous or future GOTR participants, their families, coaches, members of the public, and beyond. We welcome everyone to join us in our support of the girls in our community.

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

5K participants will receive a GOTR 5K tshirt and 5K bib. Pickup for preregistered participants will be on May 21, with the time and location to be announced soon.

DO I NEED TO REGISTER?

All current spring GOTR participants are already registered for the 5K through their proram registration. Everyone else is required to complete the 5K registration. Online registration closes on May 19 at 12pm. Day of registration is available starting at 8:00am for $35.

ARE WATER STATIONS AVAILABLE?

Two water stations will be available on the course for participants. Runners are also encouraged to bring water bottles along on the course.

WHAT IF THERE IS INCLEMENT WEATHER?

Our 5K is a rain or shine event and will only be cancelled in the case of severe or threatening condistions. If severe conditions should occur on our 5K day, we will post information on our website, on Facebook and Instagram, and via email. Registrations are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

CAN I BRING MY DOG OR PET?

For safety, all furry friends are not allowed on the course or at the event, so please leave all pets at home on 5K day!

ARE STROLLERS ALLOWED ON THE COURSE?

Strollers are not allowed on the 5K course at this time. Thank you for understanding!

Join us for a fun HIIT + Run class with Narragansett Brewery. We will meet at the field across from the brewery and the run will start promptly at 6pm. After the run, join us for a demo of our Lagree machine and learn the many benefits this program has for runners and other fitness enthusiasts! A raffle for free classes will be held as well.

The Craft Brew Races return to Worcester for a fun 5k followed by a craft beer festival! Enjoy a relaxed run (or walk) through downtown Worcester and celebrate your achievement with an amazing craft beer event at Worcester Commons.
We'll be pouring outstanding local and regional craft beers, making for an afternoon you don't want to miss.

This 5k is in memory of Joseph P. McDonald, Esq. "JoJo" of RockyHill, CT, formerly of North Providence, RI who passed away on September 14,2016. He was 36 years old. Joe graduated from The University of Connecticut(2001). He received his law degree from Roger Williams University School of Law(2004) and founded McDonald Law Associates (2006). Joe built his law practice over the last 10 years in New Britain Connecticut. He was highly successful, which he attributed in a recent interview (The New Britain Herald), to very hard work, preparation, personality and appreciating the people who worked for him. Work was not the only factor that made him the widely and deeply loved person he was. He enjoyed life to the fullest; he is described by family, friends and colleagues as being positive, charismatic, funny, energetic, extremely loyal and loving. Family meant everything to him and he never met a person he didn't consider a friend. The extent of his kindness and generosity toward people was overwhelming. When Joe discovered, whether friend or family was in need; he would step up to the plate immediately even if they never asked. He received great joy in giving and helping people. Joe recognized thatGod had blessed him abundantly and wanted to share his prosperity with others who were not as fortunate. Joe's passion was practicing law and he was outstanding in his career. The legal community has lost a great attorney and the rest of the world has lost a great man.
